Cardamom, Ground

An ancient spice, Cardamom was grown in the gardens of the King of Babylon in 720BC. Important in Scandinavian, Turkish and Indian cuisine, cardamom features in both savory and sweet dishes. Cardamom has a warm, slightly lemon-like flavor and a wonderful aroma.

Add ground cardamom to pastries, coffee cake, stollen, muffins, fruit pies, cookies, cakes, gingerbread, custard, fruit salads and dressings. Cardamom is also a wonderful addition in curry and barbecue sauce. Mix ground cardamom with sugar for a unique sprinkle on sugar cookies, scones and buttered toast.
